(12.1) Laser Cutting It Up!

Working with Eva on this project was so much fun! We decided to create a laser cut building that we could turn into a night light to mimic the glow you see from the inside of a real building. I had an issue with the live trace function on illustrator so I ended up making all of my windows. We thought it would be a nice contrast between the vector images and the drawings images. I also played around with mixing lights. Overall it was a fun experience.

The process:
1. We created a box using maker case to fit our idea.
2. We designed the windows in illustrator. Each of us designed two sides of the building.
3. We edited and resized everything to fit the material we borrowed from the ThingSpace. We used Bass Wood from the studio.
4. Send to laser and cut and assemble!
5. We used an led and battery to turn the light on and placed it in the box. Voila!
